Privacy notice
This explains what we collect when you ask us to value your car, why we need it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@webuydesirablecars.co.uk and we'll answer plainly.
Who we are
We Buy Desirable Cars is a trading name of Auto Trade Spot Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 16214955. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Your name, mobile number, email address and postcode
- Your vehicle registration, mileage and the condition details you give us
- Vehicle specification and history data returned by the records we search against that registration
- Where finance is involved, the lender and agreement details needed to obtain a settlement figure
- Basic technical information from your visit, such as pages viewed and approximate location from your IP address
Why we need it
To produce your valuation, to contact you about it, to verify the vehicle and your entitlement to sell it, to settle any outstanding finance, and to meet our legal obligations around vehicle sales and anti-money-laundering checks.
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract or steps taken before entering one, our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service, and compliance with legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Vehicle data providers, to confirm specification and history
- Your finance lender, where a settlement figure is needed
- The DVLA, to notify a change of keeper
- Our payment provider, transport partners and professional advisers
We do not sell your details to third parties, and we do not pass your registration to networks of traders.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to a sale are deleted after 12 months. Completed purchases are retained for six years to satisfy accounting and HMRC requirements.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email hello@webuydesirablecars.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to make the site work and to understand aggregate traffic. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
